Black Cultural Center
126 Squires Student Center
Black Cultural Center opened in November 1991 in 126 Squires. In 1984, Black student leaders from the class of 1985 proposed the establishment of the BCC to correlate with the uprise in recruitment of black students.
The Black Cultural Center is an important component of Virginia Tech’s efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive campus community. The BCC is utilized by the campus community for educational programs, exhibits, meetings, and receptions. The Center includs a small library, TV/VCR, movie screen and stereo. Multicultural Center
140 Squires Student Center
The Multicultural Center is an important component of Virginia Tech’s efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive campus community. The MCC helps to create this environment by providing students, faculty, and staff comfortable space for working, studying, lounging, and socializing. The MCC is also utilized by the campus community for educational programs, exhibits, meetings, and receptions. With a small library, the MCC features a TV/VCR, stereo and displays from the Asian, Native American, Jewish, Hispanic/Latino, and LGBT communities. A private room in the back features work space for multicultural student organizations. The space also features a computer for public use. For a reservation click here
